Incentive and Motivation

Today was a good day I met my two goals. I met with a personal trainer today I am starting a program tomorrow. I am suppose to be at my goal weight of 160 pounds and 20% body fat in one year. Ryan promised me that we would go on a cruise once I get to my goal weight. I am excited for that cruise next year. Lol! I also promised myself I couldn't have another baby until I ran a marathon but that'll be next summer sometime.
Ryan and I are also starting a bet between eachother. Who ever goes without fast food the longest gets 50 dollars to spend on whatever we want. Im going to use it to buy my fancy dress for my cruise!
My goal for tomorrow is to have my protein every three hours and to step it up at the gym. Every day I will be setting a nutrition goal and an exercise goal. Wish me luck

  1. Fast food is gross. That should be easy. Seriously, once you quit, your taste buds will change and you'll not want to go back. When I go to the grocery store, I don't make a list. I just go to the produce section and buy a little of everything I can stand. I fill the fridge with fresh ingredients. I learned from various books that nothing in the "middle" of the grocery store is really healthy to eat. All the good stuff is along the outside edges: produce, meat, dairy, etc. I try to stick to the outside as much as possible. When I buy apples and oranges, I buy them in the bulk bags because it saves a little cash to do that. Having a personal trainer is awesome. Do everything he/she says. I wish I could do that right now; that is when I was in my best shape. Lifting weights and putting on muscle is the fastest way to get in shape. Good luck! Your in my thoughts and prayers! :-)

  2. Thanks Alicia. Ya I've heard that too about the grocery store! I always buy healthy food for the house. I have a hard time when its faster to grab something than to make something. That is where my down fall is.

  3. That is awesome that you will be able to do the cruise!! What great incentive!! :) I used to love fast food, too, and now that I have gone without it for a while and have been eating healthy, I haven't enjoyed going out to eat like I used to. I would rather eat something at home that I can for sure know the calories for to log into my food journal. :)

  4. Try to get into the habit of just grabbing an apple or an orange. I tell myself, I can grab anything I want after I eat this entire orange. Usually, the sweetness of the orange helps to curb my sweet tooth and appetite, especially if I eat an orange with lots of water. Most oranges have between 60-80 calories. Same as a Jell-O cup, but fills you up way more.

I don't want to sound like I'm a know it all or think I have all the answers. I have struggled with weight my ENTIRE life...the first time I noticed I was fatter than most was in 3rd grade. I was teased for it. It has been a really difficult challenge for me with my health and also my emotional well-being. So I don't want to come across as being a self proclaimed expert. And currently (aside from being 6 months prego), I could stand to lose about 50 lbs. (pounds I needed to lose before I even got pregnant). So I am really serious when I say you are an inspiration to me and I'm really looking forward to doing this with you.

I'm actually doing great today on my calories. You only need 300 extra calories per day when pregnant, but since I don't work out at all, I really just need to eat the same calories. Working out is not going to happen for me right now because I am sick with a bug. But when I get better, I want to start.

Sorry my comments are always so long!
